1. Best Game - LSU - Alabama. A heart stopping defensive struggle that LSU won in OT. A classic game.

Worst Game - LSU - Tenn. Blowing a 21 point lead at home to a team that eventually finished under .500. Turned a small but loud portion of Tiger Audience against coach.

    Most Improved Players

JaMarcus Russell. He has turned into an upper tier SEC QB. Hopefully he can improve further and learn to throw the ball away and not take 10 yd or greater sacks(Drive killing sacks)

Bennie Brazell. Turned into a reliable deep threat that could actually catch.

Kenny Hollis and Ali Highsmithg. Non-existent last year and were a decent linebackers this year.

    Best Coaching Job

Bo Pelini - Kept defense at a high level

    Biggest Loss

Senior Class - The winningest senior class in the history of LSU football. This class has one of the largest contributing class in recent memory. 21 seniors with at least 12 being starters or at least major contributors

    Most Underrated Players/Positions

-Ronnie Prude - He played well the second half of the season.
-Kevin Steltz - A good fullback that never got any carries.
-Chase Pittman - He got the least amount of coverage but I think overall he had a better season than Oliver.
-Linebackers - I thought when Kuale went down that teams were going to be able to run at will against our linebackers. But Vaughn, Hollis, and Highsmith did a great job against the run.

    Most Overrated Players/Positions

-Wide Recievers - Easily the most disappointing aspect of the offense was the inability of the recievers to actually catch the ball.

-Offensive Line - Played inconsistently the entire season.

-Running Back Depth - JV played OK but still is not back to '03 form. Joseph Addai was great but after him was not up to LSU standards.

-Sammy Joseph/Mario Stevenson/Chevis Jackson - All three were extremely disappointing and 2 of three barely saw the field. Chevis must have been the lesser of three evils.

    Prediction for Next Year

Next year will be a major rebuilding year. Les has his work cut out for him with road games at Tenn, Auburn, and Florida. The team must find its offensive identity or it could be a very long season. The defense will probably not be up to its level due to heavy losses. I think if Les pulls off an 8-3 record next year it will be a better coaching job than this year.
  2. Disagree with your assessment of our LBs... they were terrible for most of the year.
  3. Year in review! My take. We did not play with any real intensity the whole year. Don't know why, but that is just what I saw. Maybe we can pick it up from here on out. But I am reallly really proud of our young men. Geaux Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
