He would play a lot more if he would learn how to hold on to the damn ball.

HELL YEAH :thumb: great idea Stacey! I'm mad cause I didn't think of it. :hihi:
Now how do you get Bo to dream it up and think it was his idea. We could use some help at CB!

Yep and if he can grow into someone who is a great catcher, he could be our best player. Can you imagine him with that speed and great hands?

You guys need to lay off of Xavier. I did not see the game yesterday, and I haven't seen anyone mention any drops from yesterday, so I have to believe that the 'hard hands' comment is a direct reference to his ONE drop v. Arizona State.

Buster had two drops v. ASU and at least one v. Tennessee, Early had three drops v. ASU, and Skyler had three drops v. UGA in '03. I don't see any threads about those guys and their inability to catch the ball.

Get off his back. He's a good player. He just needs more touches.

    i fear he's gonna be a bust.

he's fast, so if you get it to him (hand it off on a reverse) in space its good, but he has dropped several. and i wouldnt be surprised if he cant run a route yet (i may be wrong). seems like another slip watkins to me.

i think the commentators said he's physical because of his size.

for my money stick with bowe, doucet and davis (in that order)

super speed is very overrated--4.5 is plenty. remember clayton and reed?

Doucet and Bowe probably have more drops than Carter, but for whatever reason everyone thinks Carter has this huge catching problem.

Maybe you should'nt comment if you didnt watch the game because he did have a drop. :dis: :dis:

He's fast. YES. But even the fastest of track stars only have to worry about running in one direction--straight. But CB's also have to be quick in their footwork. Given Carter's height, I would say that just cause he's fast and physical, doesn't nec. mean he'd be a good CB.

well, XC has probably dropped 3 of 6 thrown to him. ED and DB have had many more thrown their way. plus, no one said they didnt have catching problems either. ED has clearly had problems, but I'm more confident in his playmaking abilities.

Carter is a true sophmore who relied on his speed in high school. The playbook was, "Carter - run fast & we'll get you the ball." He's had a lot to learn at the college level and he will continue to grow. His routes look better than last year and he's getting open more, but the catching problems will have to go. Carter's got 2 years of eligibility left - plenty of time.
