Re: Andre DeBose
Seminole beat Apopka on Friday night:
Debose was held to negative yardage on 10 rushing attempts midway through the final quarter. But with Seminole leading 21-7, he finally found daylight on a sweep and went 87 yards for the clinching touchdown.
He celebrated by doing two back-flips in the end zone — too joyous to worry about the inevitable unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
On a fourth-and-7 play from Apopka’s 33, Armstrong passed the ball backwards to Debose who threw to Ryan Sanders beyond a beaten secondary for the go-ahead touchdown with 4:05 remaining in the first quarter. Seminole opened the second half with a huge touchdown when Apopka attempted to slant a sky kick away from Debose. Nile Owens caught the ball on the run and sped 64 yards down the Seminole sideline for a score that made it 13-0.
Seminole advances to the final four for the first time since 1987 -- and only the second time in school history. They will play Boone (11-2) Friday night at 7:30 in Seminole's home stadium.
