Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the route to be taken and the approximate time. Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places. I have to tell you that once I opened this I could not stop it in spite of standing in the Nashville Airport waiting to board a plane. What an emotional piece. I stood there with my eyes swelling from the emotion. You all need to watch this powerful message. :911:

Wow.. The Vietnam Vets next to their rides saluting... Now that was awesome. Had a similar send off today for a Guard MP unit today, as they were leaving town. And I have to say that what really gets me is the "Honor Flights". That is a group that flies our WWII vets to Washington to see the WWII memorial. There has been 2 so far from here, and more planned. The whole community turns out to greet and thank them when they return.:usaflagwa
