His concussion last season was very severe. If this one was in the same location . . . He is probably done. I hate for a senior to miss his last season.

There goes our depth on the O line.

Dammit, didn't last year start out this way? Loosing a big boy or two up front.....

As I understand it, once you've had a concussion, you become more succeptible to them.

It's a very serious injury and can cripple a man in his later years.

Anyone know what his field of study is in? How he's progressing academically?

That is really too bad. I hope he is finished, for his own good. Two in two years just isn't sustainable. Good Luck!

Florida Gator Football has a bit of history as regards SEC player injury. It seems to always occur in Gainesville Florida.

The list of SEC athletes injured in Gainesville, FL (crippled or ruined)
    1. Matt Mauck/LSU/ 2002 (Mauck's foot was almost crippled for life. The surgery took a day to perform, barely successful and he was never NFL material post injury)
    2. Tyrone Prothro /ALA/ 2005 (Prothro can barely walk to this day and will never see the NFL)
    3. Josh Williford /LSU/2012 (Should he play again he risks a wheelchair and a feeding tube) A severe injury inflicted by a cheap shot in Gainesville, Florida 2012 from which he has not recovered.

It's Tyrone Prothro and he was injured in Tuscaloosa.

He won't see the NFL. But, he can walk just fine...saw him playing basketball a few years ago.

I'm happy to hear that he wasn't crippled too badly. That injury was awful, and then didn't he develop some sort of awful infection while he was in the hospital?
