ESPN just had Will Blackwell saying "Alabama didn't earn their way into the championship game." Why would you throw that bulletin board material out there two weeks before the game? Why are you even wasting mental energy thinking about something you can't control, something that is already done and done, at this point? Why, why, WHY?
I wouldn't worry. Things have been said on both sides. In 2003 UGA came into Tiger stadium and left with a loss (17-10). From that game on all the was said by the UGA team and fans, "The better team didn't win", "Just wait till we see them again." LSU players heard this everytime they turned around. Right before the team left for the SECCG a coaching friend of mine called and told me that he had just got off the phone with an LSU coach. He said the team was ready to play and was tired of the talk every week. Looks like some of the same. :tigereye:
Could be. Could even be that Blackwell is the only guy on the team who's thinking that. But if he's saying it, he's probably not, and it hardly seems like the right frame of mind to prepare for the game.
I agree LSUDad. Why, why, worry? I believe the Tigers have this, especially on the fast track in the dome. Too bad it's not OK State though, then all three of LSU's BCS games could have come in the dome against teams that start with Os. :geauxtige
This whole bulletin board material stuff is way overblown anyway. Put it this way: Bama players honestly believe the better team lost on 11/5. Just about every quote from players following that game confirms that. They've gotten a second chance to prove it on the biggest stage of all, for all the marbles. There is no bigger motivation to bring their A+ game. But we're supposed to believe that they're not motivated enough so that one quote from an LSU player is somehow going to light that fire under them? Please.
People put too much stock in bulletin board material in my opinion. Those kids are going to be hyped and ready to play no matter what.
At this point both sides have given each other enough bulletin board material so it's not really a big deal. The point is, it's not smart from a tactical sense. Never give your enemy emotional ammo. These guys are young and full of piss and vinegar and don't have the wisdom yet.
Is that the same network that last night on SportCenter said "Alabama is going to restore order in the BCS" stating that Alabama will win thus putting them back in the rightful spot. Yeh that ESPN F Espn
