Who is Les Miles

I was talking to this guy today who tutors students in math and meets them at a coffee shop for the lessons. He has a PHD in math and does other kinds of work online as well as publishes some kind of educational magazine for students. A really smart guy but he has no interest in sports.

He tolde that when Les Miles was first hired he went to some kind of get aquanted party at LSU with his wife who is a professor. When Miles approached him he intoduced himself and told Miles he was a teacher. Les the said "I'm Les Miles.". My friend asked him what kind of work he did and Les looked at him kind of funny like maybe he thought he was hard of hearing and repeated "I'm Les Miles."

I found it amazing that even somebody with no interest in football but lives in Baton Rouge could not know who the LSU football coach was. Apparently Les found it amazing too.

 

I had no idea who Les Miles was either. Hell, still can't say I know who he is.

I knew who he was because I saw Okie State blow a big lead to Texas.

Shutting down the alkie consumption until the weekend. Unless I get a beer or two later.

 

I knew who he was because of his Howard Dean moment at Okie Lite when they beat OU, Let 'er Rip or something...

 

In fact I think it's safe to say the only reason he is LSU's coach is because he beat OU twice.

 

All I get from that is what rock did the "teacher" dude live under. Please...what does Les Freakin' Miles do for a living...

 

He also told me he has never owned a TV

 

Okay, total weirdo.

 

I've heard that CLM is a great father, husband, and man. Since I will never deal with him on a personal level I will say that he's just an average coach. His press conferences are just a different version of Marshawn Lynch's. I'd prefer that when CLM talks he'd just say " I'm here so I don't get fined"

 

Then he wouldn't be the quirky Les Miles.
