pulled pork, scalloped potatoes, and coleslaw.

one of greenies co-workers heard him talking to me yesterday about how i still dont feel up to cooking and that we were gonna have frozen pot pies again. she took pity on him and today brought him dinner for both of us so he could have something other than a frozen dinner or take out.

It's 5 am and I need some food, I wish there was a 24 hr Taco Bell here in New Orleans, I can't wait to get back to MIA where there is one three blocks from my apartment

Way too hot to cook. Got take out...again. I think we've spent a weeks worth on groceries just on dinner for the past 4 nights.

    BBQ Ribs and Chicken
    Potato Salad
    Fried Okra
    Extra Extra Large Iced Tea

I love the farmer's market this time of year.

Dinner tonight will feature heirloom tomatoes and maybe corn. If I get home early enough, I'll put on the fresh butter beans. Got to pick up some rice on the way home...

    Who needs meat?

    i agree!

i have been eating fresh tomatoes that i grew in my flowe bed this summer. there is an heirloom variety called Brandywine that is my favorite tomato of all time. it is soooooo good. some days i (very carefully!) cut up a couple and that is all i have for lunch.

Still, there are some authentic Taquerias in NOLA that are pretty damn good, not just the truck vendors.

Taqueria Guerrero Mexico on Carrollton and Tacos San Miguel on Claiborne.
