1. That's tomorrrow night! Tonight is??? Does it event matter? Probably just drinking in preparation for tomorrow night. Every good crawfish boil deserves a pre-party. :thumb:

  2. chichen noodle soup, crackers. jello and scooby-do grahams for dessert
  3. Hey, liquid diets count as meals too. :thumb:
  4. Krystal for lunch....still dunno what's for dinner.
  5. Movie popcorn.

I hope to everything that is just in this world that my early dinner tomorrow will be two manda dogs and a disgusting 44oz drink at the spring game. Will the refreshment stands be open?
  6. ice cream. specifically moosectracks. thought i had a pizza with just cheese -had pepperonis on it. damn lent.
  7. Last night:

Heavily discounted top sirloin steaks (originally about $16, got 'em for $5)

In a cast iron skillet in the oven, heating to 500 degrees:
sliced red onion and bell pepper
    • fresh garlic
    • cumin
    • bit of olive oil
    • salt
    • red
    • pepper

Coated the steaks in cumin, cayenne, and soy sauce

Seared the steaks in the skillet, and then oven cooked them with the above ingredients in there with 'em

    Final dish:
    • Sliced steak with onions/pepper
    • Avocado
    • Jalapeno pepper
    • Corn tortillas
    • Penwell's Cabernet Sauvignon
Perfect, though in retrospect, top-shelf tequila, with spicey V8 chaser would have been better

The real beauty of it is I had leftover steak, and made the following breakfast:

MACHACA, my favorite breakfast food (other than McD's chicken biscuits), which is a mix of the following:

    • Shredded beef
    • 3 scrambled eggs
    • sauteed onion
    • Fresh jalapeno
    • Salsa
    • Cheese (sharp cheddar, which is what I happened to have available)
    Served on warm corn tortillas.

  8. That's so funny cause they have to mark 'em down when they lose that "Pretty red color" but the irony is that they're better cause they're aged.
The bacteria break down the meat and that's what makes it tender.

Those are the the one's I look for.
  9. That's exactly right! That's why I'm not that particular on the cut, because it's all in how you prepare it anyway. I went to the store looking for a cheap skirt steak, and ended up with a cheap sirloin. Can't beat that.

Funny enough, I found the best deals on that kind of steaks are normally at upscale grocery stores, with great meat markets.

Wonder if batgirl is still re-couping from the C boil last night?? :hihi:
