What is it?

    It is some type of metal bender or shaper.

    Close enough. It is a chainsaw bar rail closer. It is used to maintain a uniform gap in the groove the chain rides in.

    Damn. I might have been asking the right questions, but it would've been a while before I came up with that! Nice.

    OK ... I have a picture ready ... but ... can't figure out how to upload. The Pic is on my computer and I do not have any photo hosting service. So ... what do I do.

    I went to insert picture .. but it's asking for a URL ... I don't have a URL.

    I know Red told me how some 50,000 post ago ... but I"m not going to spend all day trying to find it.

    BTW .. the AA battery pack is just for size.

    Looks like one of the dies for reloaders of rifle rounds. By the size of the center pin, I'm guessing it's for a really big casing/primer like a .50 cal (as a decapper) or as a case neck sizing die for something smaller.
