    This is it! Technically it is a precision altimeter. It is so sensitive that it will measure the thickness of a sheet of paper. I used it primarily in leveling houses, but can be used anywhere that you need to establish a level plane or grade. When I first started leveling/raising houses, it would take hours to establish baselines for the slab/foundation and I needed a helper. With this tool I could do it in 15 minutes by myself.

    Wow, in for the win on a last ditch wild guess. That was a tough one Kyle. I'm headed out of town this afternoon, so hopefully this will be an easy one.

    Its used outside and while this one is aluminum, some are made with plastic handles.

    dude what is wrong with you i asked a long time ago if it that is what is was. i even asked if it was surveying equipment for measuring level which is exactly what it was.

    well to be fair I read yours and never thought twice about it but when I read tally's I was like damn thats got to be it. lasers and shit throws it off.
