Me and a couple of my boys from Boston are flying down to see this weekend's game. LSU has a reputation for being a great place to see a game, and that is why we are coming down. Can anybody give me tips/info on what to expect when we're down there? We're gonna be there Friday and Saturday night and already have tickets. We're all 23-24 and looking to have a real good time both Friday night and Saturday tailgating before the game. Thanks.

bring your winter gear, oh nevermind you guys get beautiful 50 degree weather all the time, but the high will be 60 on saturday in NOLA so it may be a bit nippy

Expect to eat a lot of food and drink a lot of beer, whiskey and bloody mary's.

    It'll be fun, trust me.

Definantly try and hit up the quarter on Friday night if you haven't ever been there before. Get back to Baton Rouge as early as possible on Saturday. We start tailgating as soon as we wake up. Most of the time, my friends and I just walk around campus and find different people to tailgate as we make our rounds. Just don't be shy, most people are more than happy to toss guys a few beers if you just go say hello. Saturday night, the bars around town are always hoping and some of the fraternities have parties. You might want to try the bar Fred's for after the game.

Is there a Friday night scene in Baton Rouge on game weekends? If so, where should we go? We'll be there Friday night and Saturday night. We'll be in NO Thursday and Sunday nights (Also going to Saints Chiefs Sunday).

I think we will remember the Sox of '04 much like you will remember the '03 Tigers. The passion for the teams are probably close paralells.

Screw the quarter. Friday night head into Baton Rouge. Go grab a burger at Raul's Deli on the cornet of Highland and State St. Just off the LSU campus. After the burger head next door to the Chimes and enjoy the 150 or so beers and hot tail. Stumble around the block to Louies Cafe after last call and get a Regular Mitchell.

Saturday you are welcome to join me and my crew for pork chop goulosh. We will be in Free Speech Alley in front of the Student Union. We will have plenty to eat and drink. After the game I would hit up the Tigerland bars or downtown Baton Rouge.

    Good luck and enjoy.

The bars in Baton Rouge close at 2am. (Some pesky little problem with college kids drinking themselves to death....) But they will be packed friday and Saturday night. Chimes is just north of campus, little bit of older crowd - not a dance club really, just a bar. Louies Cafe is always great drunk food after a night at Chimes, and only a short stumble away. If you go to Tigerland bars, Reggies is mostly freshmen younger people where its so packed you can't move. Fred's is little bit older, more relaxed. Tiger Bar is a mix of the two and Bougie's is pretty much the greek bar.

Welcome to TigerForums dmac! You should really stick around here, I could use some more Sox fans! The bar scene in Baton Rouge is decent at best. It all depends on what kind of scene you are looking for...live music, crappy college bars in Tigerland, or just a cool place to hang out and drink (The Chimes).

dmac I'm sure you will have great time in LA

just make sure you start taking your favorite brand of antacid before you leave Beantown and then take it repeatedly during your stay, don't wait to you feel the pain. People come down to the bayo and tend to drink much more than normal as well as eat a lot of things they've never had before as well. We also have a few microrganisms down here that simply do not grow up north, so be prepared and you will have a great time.

It all depends on what you want to do Friday night, BR offers alittle bit of everything. NO offers alot of everything. You kind of have to chose your poison. As far as Saturday goes just walk around and meet people that way when you come back you have new found friends. If you want a good time go check out Team KATT right in front if the steps to the Student Union on the parade grounds. Just tell them Crip said for all of y'all to drink one for him.
If you stick around I am sure they will tell you some great stories about some of the stupid things I have done. We also have " Holy Board" its a coonass game, and always good food and cold beer. Let us know what you are looking for and you will find more then enough people willing to help.
