1. Turbotigerfan, i guess there could be something worked out.But im not sure how a team that didn't make the playoffs would do in a bowl game .I doubt the Rose Bowl wants to see two losers in there big dance.Hell, maybe Army could play Navy in the Baghdad Bowl.My point is,who's gonna turn off the playoffs to watch two non-playoff teams? Those games would have to be televised at different times.Like around February or NEVERARY.Put them on before crawfish season.I would hate to be outside cooking and miss a couple 2-8 teams play each other in the "Sloan Toliet Bowl"(think sloan still makes toliets, last time i puked they did) Maybe we should take notes from the Little Dribblers Baskettball Organization. At the end of the year they just give everyone a throphy and some pizza.

  2. LOL tigerman dude, your funny. bebop du loo lop toodles
  3. This man is wise beyond his years, the BCS is flawed but the HUMAN POLL IS MORE FLAWED! LSU should be #1 by strength of Schedule in the human polls. ALSO what difference does it make WHO we WHOOP in the NC game. WE WILL BE THE NC. PERIOD. USC can holler scream kick their lil feets, throw a temper tantrum and it WONT HELP. Whether YOU belive it or not for all it's falicy the BCS computer poll IS the best we have and HAS the final say so. ALL THIS OTHER STUFF IS MEDIA HYPE! IT SELLS TICKETS AND AIR TIME, THE MEDIA LOVES IT! and guess what sports fans the sports writers WORK for the MEDIA. Yes you heard it here first, welcome to the almighty dollar that RUNS THINGS~! When its all over and all the smoke clears LSU will be #1. BTW WHY do you think TREV went with UGA? HE is PAID to be OMG can it be?? Contreversial! What kills me is how riled up some of my brethren get about it? YOUR playing right into their little scheme. CONTREVERSEY SELLS COPY. Folks come on really get a clue here.
  4. They could let the top 4 teams play in the Rose and Orange Bowl on New years day and then the next week the two winners could play in the Sugar for all the marbles. Rotate it around to the other bowls like the fiesta, whatever. The bowl that got left out of the mix would get the next biggest pair of teams. No playoff for them. It would rotate back to them the next year. All the smaller bowls would then get some better teams involved due to the trickle down effect. I don't know about the rest of you but I don't watch the cookie crumb bowl or the Liberty bowl unless LSU is in it. I bet most everyone is like that save a few die hards with allot of time off to watch EVERY bowl game. I don't know about you guys but a 6-6 team playing a 7-5 team just doesn't do much for me. I'd rather watch Sponge Bob. LOL
  5. USC sucks... They haven't played anyone worth a sh1t all year. The media loves them... SO WHAT???

If USC had played the LSU or OSU schedule, they would be a 4 loss team.

That being said, OSU did not win their conference.....
I feel that if you can't win your conference, you should not be allowed to play for the national title.

OSU has dominated all year, but LSU or USC would not have gotten beaten so badly as that.

In closing, I have mixed feelings about everything.
USC might as well be TCU or Miami(OH) they are good, but haven't played anyone.

OSU is awesome, but got totally whooped in their conference championship game.

LSU "DESERVES" to be the #1 team in the nation, and might well be after all is said and done.

THANK YOU LSU & COACH SABAN for even letting me have an opportunity to have a conversation like this.

    GEAUX TIGERS
  6. You are saying that by beating OU we are not the best team in America?
  7. Oklahoma Edges LSU for #1, with*
    USC a Relatively Distant 3rd

With all due respect to #3 USC, the teams most deserving of invitations to the Sugar Bowl are #1 Oklahoma and #2 LSU
All 3 teams have 1 loss, and USC simply has not beaten anywhere near the caliber of teams that Oklahoma and LSU have beaten:

Based on teams' current rankings, Oklahoma and LSU have each played 2 games vs. better teams than USC's toughest opponent, and they have each played 5 games vs. better teams than USC's 2nd-toughest opponent

USC has not played a current top-15 team, and the Trojans are only 2-1 vs. the current top-40, despite playing #38 and #40

The best team USC has beaten is #18 Washington St., while Oklahoma has beaten #5 Texas, and LSU has beaten #12 Georgia twice

The 2nd-best team USC has played is #38 Cal, which beat the Trojans

Oklahoma and LSU have each lost only to a current top-25 team (#16 Kansas St. and #24 Florida, respectively), and they have combined for 9 wins over teams currently ranked higher than Cal

As the following list shows, USC has posted only 2 of the 10 best wins by these 3 teams (based on teams' current rankings):* 1. Oklahoma over #5 Texas, 2. (tie) LSU over #12 Georgia (regular season), 2. (tie) LSU over #12 Georgia (SEC championship game), 4. USC over #18 Washington St., 5. Oklahoma over #19 Oklahoma St., 6. LSU over #20 Arkansas, 7. LSU over #23 Mississippi, 8. Oklahoma over #31 Texas Tech, 9. Oklahoma over #32 Missouri, 10. (tie) USC over #40 Auburn, 10. (tie) LSU over #40 Auburn

In sum, the Trojans' top wins are over much worse teams than the Sooners and Tigers have beaten, and the Trojans' loss is to a much worse team too:* Oklahoma and LSU deserve to play in the Sugar Bowl
  8. Being probably the most astute and critical judge of College FB talent on this board ... arguably ... and being one of the most opinionative ... without argument ... I'll say this.

I expected and posted/predicted an Oklahoma loss or "at best" for Okla ... an extremely TIGHT game (I made a very tidy profit on KSU ... enough to book a week in Antigua after the Sugar Bowl).

WHY? BECAUSE it was Oklahoma's first real test with a DECENT (top 25) defensive squad that had a good offense.
AND .... The Alabama game won by OK (20-13) was NO FLUKE.
AND .... Until the KSU game, no OKLA team played a Top 25 Dee.
AND .... Mr. Jason White cannot handle blitzing defenses. Period.
AND .... KSU has very good TEAM SPEED ... enough to hang

ALL this notwithstanding, Oklahoma still "DESERVED" to go to N.O. ... UNTIL THEY WERE "ROUTED" BY KSU. Had OKLA stayed within 14 points of KSU ... PEOPLE wouldn't be saying this crap.

Sorry, but OK doesn't "deserve" a Sugar Bowl ...

    Deserve or not ... IT'S A MOOT POINT ... THEY'RE IN!

USC would have beaten OKLAHOMA this year ... IMO

Why? all the reasons above ... unless USC turned the ball over an inordinate # of times ... unlikely as USC is #2 in Turnover Margin.

Leinart and Company will be back ... and badder than ever next year ... and they will be RIGHT THERE in the end ... NCs are won in February ... as the TEAMS here right now in the TOP 5 ... with the exception of Michigan ... are recruiting the BEST.
  9. Yes, I think that is what Turbo is saying........

And the controversy will go on for years........

    I can hear it now:

    "Remember back in '03 when 2 played 3 and 1 played 4?
What were they thinkin'????? Gotta' settle it on the field."
  10. Granted OU did not win the conference title game. Why now are the polls so important. These are the same polls that had TCU ranked so damn high this year. We were higher in the polls but lower in the BCS. I still think that USC has no gripe because this is the system the BCS is based on more than just the human polls the six conferences voted on this. The SOS and computers do not base anything on the way someone wins a game (style points). Give me a reason as to why we should not be rated #1.

The Sugar Bowl is the National Title game. Bottomline, USC can spin it anyway.
