Let's put a fine point on this. This is what it boils down to. All things being equal, it boils down to population density, TV ratings, and $$$. Look at Los Angeles, then look at Auburn. Nuf said?
I really don't see the title being split in any way possible... Think about it. The voters think that USC is godlike right now.... If OU beats another team of gods, then OU must be even MORE godlike. "If you beat USC, then there is no doubt that you are the best team in the nation!'
Not true. LSU started at #3. If they were undefeated following the Auburn and Georgia games, everybody would have to catch them.
yep, everybody except for #1 USC and #2 OU. The SEC was rated the 4th/5th best conference by the computer polls. It didn't matter who went undefeated in the SEC, really.
