That was Baylor's first big time game this year. For those not familiar with the Baylor basketball situation, Baylor was not allowed to play any out of conference games last year as part of the NCAA punishment for the Dave Bliss/Patrick Denehey saga. To put it in laymen's terms, Baylor got as close to a Death Penalty in a sport as possible since SMU. They also had very restricted scholarships and no post season ability in conference or tournament play.

The fact Baylor got a player the caliber of Tweety Carter is a coup all to itself, and a testament to Scott Drew's coaching/recruiting ability. Carter is a McDonald's All American (1st ever to play at Baylor), the US high school scoring leader with well over 7,400 points, and the three point leader for high school. Drew has been limiting him to 15-18 minutes a night up until the Syracuse game.....he lit them up for 31 including 7 three pointers.

Now, not sure exactly what Brady was doing not pushing hard for Carter - LSU was never really in the picture. Fact is you do not lose a kid of Carter's caliber to a relatively no name basketball entity like Baylor without a whiff of your name as a possible destination............that is all Brady.

shouldnt give cjb grief over one recruit when we know nothing of the situation. maybe pierre talked to him and he said unequivocally no thanks. maybe his mother was killed by skip bertman's sister. maybe his stepfather is abusive and he wanted out of state. cmon we really have no idea.

I am not a big basketball fan and don't follow recruiting like I do for football. What is Brady's reputation as a recruiter?

If you're not one of Collis Temple's summer league kids or the godchild of his assistant Brady can't close the deal.

Since some folks refuse to accept reality, I'll post this again. Again, LSU did recruit Tweety. In Tweety's and DJ Augustin's sophomore years in high school, both were listing LSU. I think after that alot could have happened. But, I think primarily, LSU focused in on DJ. Add on top of that, Tweety was smaller and competed in a less competitive private school district. In hindsight everything's easy to second guess. We should have landed Chris Duhon, Jarius Jackson, DJ Augustin, as well. There are a ton of guys that head out of state for hoops, and LSU wins some and loses some. Right now we've got Garrett Temple, a taller, more versatile point who's averaging well over 2 to 1 in his assist to turnover ratio. Could Tweety have helped this team? Sure, but we've already got Temple, Tack and Voogd at point. I'm not sure Tweety would have come even if LSU rolled out the red carpet. He had a much greater chance of playing at Baylor, and let's face it, LSU is at the top level of the SEC. Baylor is lower tier of the Big 12.

who are you, Butch Pierre? LSU recruited him, but if you can't see that they put all of their eggs in DJ's basket, then you're not seeing 20/20.

And to think that he isn't better than Voogd or Tack also makes you not see 20/20.

The kid was a McDonalds All-American.

And which one is Stomile Swift's Godfather? and Ronald Dupree's? and Anthony Randolph's, and Darell Mitchell's?, etc.

I'm talking about the Terry Martin that scored 19 on 5/6 3s wearing an  jersey.
