I live in Florida. The local sports radio says it's Donovan to Kentucky.

Man, am I a little rumor mill today or what???

After hearing some of the things that Pearl has said about coaching at UT, it wouldn't suprise me in the least.

Not a lot of action off this post! :hihi:

Perhaps it's the anti-Brady sentiment taking a break...

Seriously though, college coaching today is a tough gig. Mike K himself may be in trouble  :yelwink2: . Tubby goes to Minn for a fresh start--a good college coach that is eaten up by the unrealistic expectations. True, he had his weaknesses, but Minnesota sees an underappreciated coach who can get his kids to play hard--they'd be happy with a team that's a third or fourth place team in their conference (sound familiar?).

As for your post, a couple of things. I kind of agree with you to some extent. I actually advocated a few years back, that IF (and that's a big IF) LSU wanted to become a national player, they could either go after Tim Floyd (ex relatively successful college coach, who has NBA credibility--much like Pete Carroll and others, with LA ties) or they'd have to roll the dice on an unproven up and comer. You see what Tim Floyd's done. UNLV did the same thing with Krueger, but keep in mind a few things in his favor that make your comparison a little unfair--weak (and winnable) conference, good tradition (NCs) at a school with good fan base, good basketball support from AD and facilities (=good recruiting base), some time in doormat, but no probation for Krueger to deal with. And, as you've said, let's wait to judge him after a few years. At the end of the day, the guy got to the sweet 16--let's not annoint him Brady beater just yet. But, it's certainly a debatable issue. One thing's for sure from your post, we need an administration that (1) cares to put Basketball on the same pedestal as football and even baseball, and (2) puts the energy and funds to that--they get a chance to prove this with finding Pokey's replacement.

Needless to say, this off season will be a very interesting time for hoops fans watching the coaching carousel--mens and womens. Pearl to Iowa? Donovan, Calipari, Few to UK? And, then who takes their spots?

Brady is just out there recruiting... as he should. Thornton and Beverly in a late season push? It could be worse.

:geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. KEEP THE FAITH.

Not a shocker. Arkansas is much more of a basketball school than A&M. $$$ probably much better as well.

    That dude can coach...
