No way. I can go to a gas station, McDonald's etc. to take a towel bath and shave but no electricity means no air conditioning or even a fan. I lost power for 11 days after Gustav and it was too hot to even think about sleeping inside. I would try to sleep in my truck and swat mosquitoes all night long until a coffee shop with ac would open at 6 AM. Then around noon go to a daiquiri shop until closing time. (which was 8 PM due to a stupid curfew)
Have the weather people made any predictions as to where the center will make landfall? Looking at the radar if it stays on track my novice estimate is somewhere between Morgan City & Cameron.
