Coaches are hesitant to play true freshman on the road in big games. Do you agree with it? I don't really care, but there is good reason that they don't generally do it.

I'd like to see TH used also as a decoy since so far he is getting to touch the ball every time he comes in. The defense have to respect his blazing speed. Hope his presence can keep the opposing teams' defense off balance.
His TD run yesterday somehow reminded me of the Skylar TD run in the 2003 NC game. He seems to have good vision and great moves; being small may be an advantage for him as he can shift faster and being a smaller target to see and to tackle.

This is really not the case anymore. I agree it used to be, but in today's world of CFB true freshman are contributors for many teams.

Experience is experience. Today is no different. Redshirts and limited PT are far more common than major contributions in the 1st year out of high school.

You are right about experience. I am not arguing that. But the truth of the matter is more true freshmen play major roles on CFB teams now than they did 5 or 10 years ago. It is rather common to have skill guys on offense and just about anywhere but corner on defense that are true freshmen.

The only positions that it is still rare and should remain rare is QB, CB, and Oline.

Now I don't mean the guys are starters in most situations, but they contribute.

Does it remind you of our OL last year when Addai was injured? One of those running backs on the Clemson team would improve this OL tremendously. I believe, once KW starts, the OL will be fine.
This OL is miles ahead of the one that pretended to protect Booty, Nall, and Rohan. JR has never had to take the beating those guys took every weekend.

We've seen lots of true freshmen play, some even very significant & meanigful playing time this year. However, when a player has a fumble problem in practice, you do not play him in a top 10 mathup on the road. You just don't do it. Too much pressure & too easy to make mental mistakes.

He might have 6 "touches", but it won't be on a football field:wink: --we have a buy this week.
