On SI.com, LSU is listed 4th in a list of midseason dissappointments - behind Central Florida, Clemson, and Kansas State.

It states: "LSU (4-2): This isn't an ugly outfit, but the expectations were high coming off a national championship and with Nick "$1 more'' Saban becoming the highest-paid coach in the college game. The Tigers' winning record is probably a blessing. Some late-game heroics earned them a win against Florida (24-21), and Oregon State (22-21 in OT) handed them a gift by missing three extra points, including the decisive shank in OT.

"I think the quarterback issue [Marcus Randall and JaMarcus Russell splitting the gig] is a little bit more of a problem than they thought it was going to be,'' said CBS college football analyst Todd Blackledge. "And also the guys that they lost off of last year's defensive team were quality players and real leaders. It's just not the same looking team as it was a year ago.'' "

Even though we are tied for the best record of the listed teams with Nebraska... and who did our 2 losses come against? Two top ten teams.
I see where they are coming from though, the losses were early in the season and they aren't looking at the future to see that *LSU will win out.

funny how no one remembers that OUR kicker missed 2 fieldgoals in the OSU game.. those xp would nto have mattered if he had made the fieldgoals.. same goes for the auburn game.. jackson makes that 38 yarder and LSU would have most likely won. And whats the deal with people dissing the Defense.. LSU is ranked #9 in yards allowed per game.. yeah.. thats horrible.. yeah.. they got lit up by georgia, but thats what happens when players like greene have the game of a lifetime.

Yeah, I see the the similarity... Nebraska loses 70-10 to Texas Tech and we lose by one point to #3 Auburn on the road. What a bunch of horse Sh--!!!

I think we would stomp Nebraska. It's not over yet. Top 10 teams could fall, we could move up several spots, get a decent bowl game and win that. If we get a top 7 team in a bowl game and win, expectations will be mighty high next year. This years team needs time to gel meaning 2 L's aren’t bad. We will be back mighty and strong next year.

exactly. its funny as hell to listen to the doubletalk from most when 'a good team always finds a way to win' when UGA or USC squeaks one out then LSU is lucky when they beat UGA and Ole myth last year, and OSU this year.

The fact USC finally laid the wood to a decent team simply helps reinforce in their minds and many others that they are clearly the best and most dominant team in football. Media and fans are very impressionable and fickle from one week to the next.

Most of the writers predicted in the preseason that LSU would have 2 or 3 losses and they all acknowledged that we would have one of the toughest runs in the country when we played AU, UGA and UF on the road. Then some of the stupid polls come out and they have us a #3 or #4. They don't even listen to themselves.

Ohio St would be my #1

talk about a program going south... 2 years removed from winning the national championship sitting at 3-3 with a 3 game losing streak.

Isn't it nice to be 4-2 and considered a disapointment? We went through the toughest part of our schedule and we are 4-2. We are now have the home stretch where we should do pretty good and finish 9-2/8-3. I expected that. This means that SI.com thought we would be a lot better and compete for a NC. We will next year. We grow up this year. :thumb:
