I said it last year, I will say it this year.. Jimbo may be a good coach, but as a playcaller he sucks. The offense was so blatantly predictable even my girlfriend was predicting the plays. I doubt there was a single playaction on first down, the majority of the passes were from the gun, and the deal with the fullbacks was the worst... Hester comes in, they throw it to him or run it with him, hester goes out, they can disregard the fullback..
I agree. Offense too predictable. Only pass I remember in two games being thrown to a TE (except the 3rd down pass in the endzone in the OT) Zinger makes a great catch. We have a QB who can throw it the length of the field and WR's with world class speed and we don't throw deep? Hail Mary at the end of regulation doesn't count. :dis:
All of you people blaming the Defense... look at the time of possession.. 35 UT 25 LSU... If you cant keep your offense on the field, you cant win a game..
I USED to think it was Saban that held Jimbo back, but it's no secret that Miles loves offense, so now I know I was wrong before. Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but we have an All American track star in Carter and an athlete who competed in the Olympics in Brazell. Should'nt that be good for at least 3 "shots" downfield per game? I don't recall any. Gotta wonder what the thought process is there.
You got a point. That first drive clausen was in, the Defense did go weak on us though you cant deny that. Looked like the ASU defense. So what do we do throw JR out and take a chance on Periloux? is that a reach? I cant see them doing that at this time, and it would be a shame to waste more games just to get to that point. I can only hope JR matures, we can't afford to lose enough to have them start Periloux... that would take some horrendous play from JR. The thing is he looks great at times, stupid at others... I guess he is human... one thing for sure..... He might play in the NFL, but he won't be a Brett Farve, more like Brooks.... see other post sigh.
