So wait a second, before practice even starts, RP is being told that the plan is for him to play 15-20 plays a game? Interesting.

Or in other words, bull ****.

    :hihi: :hihi:

isnt it feasible he's preparing RP on about that many plays if all goes well then thats his goal for him at this point. i see nothing wrong with that from either side and i find it logical.

look ryan, if you play it will likely be in a specific situation at this point so learn these 20+ plays inside and out and get comfy. no promises, simply slowly preparing him for the rigors of the SEC either way.

So you think that Coach Miles has absolutly no idea what he will do with the team and is going into practice with a 100% open mind? haha wow..

You're telling me that he is giving playing time to a true freshman who has never participated in one practice at LSU over a guy who has been here for two years and has actually shown that he can pass against defenses on the college level? haha wow...

I know you'd rather see your boy RP play than actually have LSU win ball games, but open your eyes. Look at last year. No QB can keep a rhythm when he is being subbed out for a series at a time. It screwed us over in the Auburn game and could've cost us multiple others. Until JR proves that he doesn't have what it takes to play an entire football game and RP/Flynn proves that they do, it is JR's job to lose.

Nope, he'll have about 20 plans, but that is not what your original post said, you have crawfished several times and now you are trying to pull the "Miles is stupid card" the other way. Miles would have been stupid if he did as you said in the first post. He could have just called Flynn or JR and said whoever doesn't win the starting job should just transfer as he was going to be third string. :dis:

It's not about making Ryan 2nd string, getting the nod over whoever doesn't win the starting position.

Ryan would have special plays that only he could do (out of the 3), set aside & when the opportunity arose he would be able to get in the game to run those few plays.

I don't understand why you two (cajdav & jvincent) are having such a hard time with this. Sure, it might not be right.. but why do you think it CAN'T be right?

    One thing's for sure.

On the very top of Miles' list of "things to do" is find a QB who is consistent and can make good decisions... all the other things are in place (given your special teams improve)... it is also a given that few freshmen have those two traits.

I would be quite happy for whoever the QB is (I am a JR-man myself) hand it off 90 times a game. And does anyone else get annoyed that a lot of times people will automatically assume that a white player is cerebral or has a greater knowledge of the game while a black player makes it only on his talent.

It just seems to me that a lot of people are portraying this QB race in that light as well, with a lot of talk about how Flynn knows the playbook better, but Jamarcus only has the arm. Flynn might know the playbook backwards and forwards, but if he can't execute when given the oppurtunity then it doesn't matter. I'm sure Jamarcus knows the playbook, and in my mind has executed it better than any QB we have on the roster. He may have suffered from confidence issues, maybe he tried to do to much, maybe he didn't know a single play. So why all this talk about how Flynn being the more cerebral of the two? Does anyone who posts on this board sit in on the QB meetings and when they break down film? If Flynn knows everything so well, why can't he execute it on the field? Why are long pants long? Why are bushes bushy?
