If he was a "true" tight end and not a hybrid I think he stays because he would have had a lot more playing time. I think CBK wants to run more of a Georgia type offense with 2 tight ends. Bech is really competing against the wide receivers. That being said I hate to see him go.

Yesterday, CB Damarius McGhee. Today, Raydarious Jones. Any cornerback who got significant playing time this year is done, and two guys who ought to be ready to step up and compete for playing time bail. Doesn't say much for them, IMO.
Radarious Jones missed this entire season due to academic suspension. Of the 6 players from LSU in the portal, the only serious loss for us (thus far) is Bech.
I just checked the ON3 portal list. Alabama has 13 in the portal (not the 15 previously listed in this thread) and TA&M now has 19 in the portal.
I'm hearing the two supposed twin "studs" - one was a five star and brother was a four star - OL from Texas have been very disappointing and were never going to see the field. I see the 5 star tackle has jumped in the portal and I'm sure his twin brother, who plays center, will be joining him very soon.
