  1. I didnt get to listen to his show all that much today but I did hear something about a possibility of Mike Shanahan being interested because there has been something brewing in Denver between he and Bowlen. Anybody know anything about this? I could get excited about a Shanahan, Gruden or Rodriguez. I'm not to into the idea of Petrino just yet but he is very good.

How in the hell are you thinking Rich Rodriguez would be someone to be excited over?

Rich Scelfo beat him out at Tulane!

He could not win a watered down Big Least this year!

    He has constantly underachieved!

How is this guy exciting you?

Anyone that was "passed over" by Tulane is persona non grata in my LSU book...

Constantly under-achieved? Outside of this year, when did they "under-achieve"?

He was now won 8+ games in 3 consecutive season at WVU....last time that happened at WVU was 1981-1983.

  5. Because I like him, point your 'tude some place else. The question was about Shanahan, hothead.

agree and last year his stock rose tremendously. Its higher now than it was when he started by a mile. Not saying I like him as a candidate here yet he is on the rise and will be considered by other schools.

I think with Shanahan we would be right back in the same situation we were with Saban. That desire to coach at the next level. Shanny has been successful in the NFL. He would long to go back when the next big opportunity came along just like Saban. I say pass on Shanahan.

    2001: 3-8
2002: 9-4 with an amazing berth in the Continental Tire Bowl!
    2003: 8-5 Gator Bowl Berth!
    2004: 8-3 Gator Bowl Berth!

2004 ended up with an amazingly effective run against stalwarts like Boston College and Pittsburgh, who outscored 56-30 during the Mountaineers amazing blitzkrieg two game losing streak heading into the postseason...

Rodriguez has them right where he wants them, boys!

28-20 career record and a track record of being overlooked by dominant programs like Tulane!

    LOL!

But when you under-achieve that means that you start somewhere higher and then not reach that height, or at least that is what I take it to mean. Where has WVU ever been put a higher level outside of this year where I admit they didn't live up to their 1-2 loss status as some said...in the years previous....WVU wasn't even in the Pre-Season Top 25 yet in the last 2 weeks before the bowl games they were ranked.

Those wins were big achievements at WVU where 8-9 wins were rare for their program.

Congrats on your 1,000th post, Marine Tiger!

Having said that...He's just not anywhere near our radar...He's not an option...I would honestly hire Fisher before Rodriguez...
