In 1967 the Blues Magoos opened at a concert held at Redemptorist High School football field. The headliner was Herman & the Hermits but the second band was The Who. It was the same night as the Saints played their first ever preseason game in Tiger Stadium. They won. It was an eventful night in Baton Rouge. There was also a Ku Klux Klan rally and cross burning further down the river. I knew a guy who said he went to the rally and when they passed the hat around for donations and it came to him he left with the money.
