I apologize, but I must say this...
I embarrass myself often, so I will take another stab at this. You and I are asking the same question, "what help is he bringing?" That is what I am trying to find out. What real, tangible, concrete, effective, verifiable help is he bringing? If you find something, is the NET value of his "help" a positive. My seven year old can "help" me wash the car, but if my goal is a clean car, the net value isn't positive. (There are many other positive outcomes not related to a clean car
).
You really lost me on your Shaqism. I didn't know Shaq had a history of trying to interject himself in political situations in which he had no standing.
And for JayB's comment:
"The way I see it, Osama himself could come down to help out and I'd be more than happy to let him help"
I recall the story of a downed American flyer who was told he would be executed unless he provided propaganda for the NVA, he told his wife in a letter to tell his son,
"The word is integrity"
I know, JJ has performed countless acts, unselfish in nature, for the oppressed all over the world. Like Liberia. He went there to help.
Geaux5000 said "the only thing that matters is saving as many lives as possible, if you don't understand that, then you are beyond saving as a human being." Did Liberia count?

And for good reason. The current crisis was in part the creation of the Rev. Jesse Jackson, a Democratic Party activist who claims to champion the rights of Africans to self-governance. As special envoy for democracy and human rights in Africa, starting in October 1997, Jackson was President Bill Clinton's point man for Africa. It was Jackson who spearheaded Clinton's 10-day African safari in March 1998, at a cost to taxpayers of $42.8 million. And it was Jackson who legitimated Liberian strongman Charles Taylor and his protégé, the machete-wielding militia leader in neighboring Sierra Leone, Cpl. Foday Sankoh. Without Jackson's active intervention, both leaders were headed toward international isolation and sanction. Thanks to Jackson, both retained power to murder another day.
After calling Americans muderers for their activites in Iraq;

These statements produced an outcry from members of the African-American leadership network Project 21:
· Michael King (Atlanta, Georgia)- "Jesse Jackson's motives have never been as transparent as they were with these statements. If anyone needs to apologize, it's him. He indulges his fantasies and delusions of grandeur by calling for Bush's impeachment and calling for United Nations action against us. But blacks are beginning to see the truth - that Jackson's bluster is exactly that: all smoke and no substance."
One last question, can you tell the difference between a coral snake and a king snake?
