When I was watching the broadcast, I overheard one of the announcers talking about how this is the "Golden Age of LSU Football," and I've been suspecting that ever since 2001.

Since 2000, 6 bowl wins, 4 Division Championships, 3 SEC Championships, 2 National Championships.

This is indeed the Golden Age. Let us be thankful.

Yes, this has definitely taken LSU to a new level.

If anyone has any doubt whether we are in the elite status of college football, then you will never be convinced.

Recruiting will take an uptick (how much better can we do?). And what I mean by that is we will start getting these high profile blue chippers from Cali and Michigan, and Florida and every other part of the US to now consider LSU. I think our recruiting will rival that of the USC machine from now on. Patrick Johnson is living proof. Two years ago, he doesn't even consider LSU. It's a totally different ballgame now.

And I stated sometime this past week, LSU will contend for a national title every year, not just odd years, or years where we play the NC in the dome.

    That phase has passed.

We're truly in a golden age.

    Enjoy.

I do think we'll get some of those kids. I also think like the old saying goes "success breeds success". Recruiting is gonna be through the roof for the next few years!:thumb:

I've been watching seriously since about 1960, and this is the second golden era. It was gold from 57 through 72, but it is more golden NOW. Let's enjoy it. For all LSU's success lately, Les Miles needed this win. This completes HIS resume, and will give him the credibility to keep recruiting well. It can only help.

    All is true.

    Enjoy the ride.

Even Urban looked nervous during the half-time analysis.

Mike VI is going to be spoiled. His first year with us we win the National Championship.

I think even without the national titles it might still be considered the "golden age".

This program was pretty much dead in the 90s.
