When Biden nominates a black woman for the Supreme Court she WILL be the most qualified candidate for the position.
What does "most qualified" mean? Was Neil Gorsuch more qualified than Merrick Garland? When it came time to make his nomination and trump filled out his list and every last one of them was white, did trumpians scream that he was basing his nominations on whiteness instead of qualifications, or did they immediately accept that no blacks or Latinos or Asians could possibly crack the top eleven? Did trumpians wail about a race-based nomination?
When Brett Kavanaugh lied multiple times during confirmation hearings (and no honest person can deny that he did) did he fail the qualifications test for a position that's supposed to require integrity? And, oh, by the way, he was white only coincidentally? Is Amy Coney Barrett white only coincidentally? Amazing it is that no black person, no Latino, no Asian could ever crack trump's top eleven, top twelve, thirteen.... thousand?
Back to the matter of Biden's choice for a black woman: Yes, she WILL be the most qualified candidate for the position, because the current politically-underrepresented perspectives and opinions of being a black and being a woman are the most necessary qualifications. Is it racist? Racial, certainly, racist, of course not. Other candidates will not be excluded because they're white, or because they're Latino, or because they're Asian, but because they're not black. Antagonism is a necessary component of racism, and while trump has certainly displayed antagonism toward non-whites Biden does not harbor nor is motivated by animosity toward people because of their race. And who's to say, anyway, that a black woman's education out in the world, there on the streets, within the community, are inferior (i.e. less qualified) than some checklist of some academically-privileged other?
Now, what about the constitutionality of it all? Biden is picking a black woman for political purposes, not for race purposes, and it was only three years ago that the Supreme Court, itself, dominated by rightists, even, declared that it's perfectly constitutional to manipulate government structures according to political ends, even when race is the dominant faaughtsctor underlying the restructure. So, a rightist wingnut can't yell "unconstitutional!" without being an obvious hypocrite, and can't yell "racist!" without accusing five of their own justices of being so.
