Was Ronnie Prude supposed to be gaurding that reciever or was a safety supposed to pick him up? On the tape Prude just lets him run by and doesnt even turn to go with him. Just squats like he is gaurding an area rather than a man? That guy was wide open and makes me wonder what defense we were in? Just thinking about what happenned? Geaux Tigers
I heard it was zone coverage.....so I thought Jesse Daniels blew the coverage, but my nephew heard that it was Prude who blew the coverage. If you look at the replay, please tell me who Jesse Daniels was covering?
I believe Jesse Daniels was responsible for Taylor on that play. Anyways, lets get ready for State! We've got a young team and they are only getting better.
Man i Hate zone coverage near the end zone. Someone always seems to blow an assignment or they find the hole. 4th and 12 and i bring everyone including the prostitutes in the Kerry traveling bus. I bring the kitchen sink with the dirty dishes still in it I bring the fat women at the weight watchers meeting i bring the ... well you get the idea!!! Geaux Tigers
I saw the AU/Tubby after game show today on CSTV, it came on after "Inside LSU football" (which will be on again tonight at 3:30 am PST, and Inside LSU will be on at 3). You can get CSTV with DirecTV. Anyway, on the AU show they said on that TD play they drew Prude away from the streaking WR by releasing the RB from the backfield. Tubby said LSU's D is very fast and loves to blitz, so to keep them honest they were running the back to the flats to break the WR loose and free of the safeties.
It looked to me like Daniels had the deep coverage also, but if he would have switched like he was supposed to the guy he was going to help on would have been open. We just didn't cover to well on that play at all.
It was Daniels who blew the coverage... Much like he did against Oregon St. Everyone thought that it was Laron Landry's responsibility, but Daniels was the safety on the inside in both cases. I sure hope het gets it right from here on in. Our defense plays way too well to have a play like that cost us a game. BTW, what was up with Travis Daniels on the 4th and 12 play? I know it was sort of a broken play, but he is supposed to be our best man to man defender. In either case, if our offense would have executed a couple of pass completions down the stretch, we would have had a chance to ice the game with another score, and those plays wouldn't have mattered. ldskule: :geaux:  :usaflagwa
On 4th and 12 we did bring in everyone...... They completed the pass to the 14 on that play. This was the 3rd and 12 and we a simple D-line rush on, unfortunately.
