1. I remember reading earlier in the year about how much these guys were Bench Pressing and other thing about the wieghtlifting progam. It appears that we are in good condition. My thought is that this team doesn't play strong like they did last year. RB's are getting extra yardage, one guy has trouble making the tackles. EVEN our gang tackles get pushed back. Anyone else see this or is it just me.

I am wondering how these guys did in squats for the drive portion and if we got so much stronger how come why are not grabbing guys and throwing down.
  2. Remember though, alot of them reported to fall camp out of shape and Saban about lost it. Last years team reported in the best shape of any Saban coached LSU team. I think that this team is loaded with talent but low on experience, work ethic and leadership.
  3. Your right. I remember a report on a buch of guys coming in heavy. I also remeber a story on how AB had done just the opposite. Well if they don't like it as much as us we should be able to close the book on this off season stuff and see a much stronger and physical team again next year.
  4. We have great strength but you're not going to tackle a 215 lb. back with arm tackles. You've got to hit low and wrap up!
  5. LSU has a very good strength/weight training coach . . . coach Moffat (sp?).

He has installed an excellent program for the football team, and I really feel we have seen this program grow in the strength dept since he was hired. I can't argue with the posts on this thread, because we didn't exactly play strong against UGA . . . but I feel for the first time in a long time the Tigers have a world class weight facility and coach.
  6. For those that don't understand football and other lingo:

    1) the sp means he was our coach last year also  :hihi:

  7. I used "sp?" to mean I wasn't sure if I spelled his name correctly. I know he was our strength coach last year, in fact I believe he has been here for a while. :thumb:
  8. My bad, sorry about that.
I figured it would definitely mean he was there this year and has run the same
    program as last!
  9. LOL, no problem . . . I'm trying to be careful on the board (i figure even a misspelling can set people off). It was a tough loss and naturally fans question things when a team loses a game like yesterday. I just wanted fans to know we have a top notch weight coach in there, and he was the same as last year. He has built a good weight program, giving strength to go along with our natural speed (we usually recruit).

You can usually see Moffat on the sidelines of any game, he is the one with the viens popping out of neck with the very red face whenever we do anything good or bad. :)
  10. My bad, I always thought that was Nick!
