I heard on Buddy D's show the other day that when Saban got to LSU in 2000 LSU had 3 players that could bench 400 lbs, and now going into this season LSU has 45!! I realize that the game is not won with a bench press, but with this strength and the blazing team speed LSU has it will be scary.

I did not catch the entire segment, but can anyone verify these numbers with a source?

I can't verify this either, but the same may be able to be said about players who run a sub 4.5.

I think the 4th quarter performance of the teams in the last couple of years testifies to the guidance they've received and the work they've done.
As they say, speed never has a bad day.

No doubt that Tommy Moffit, (hope its spelled right) the strength and confditioning coach, is the hero that never gets any credit.

I give him credit all the time, though granted Im not media or anything. I was giddy when we got him out of Miami.
