After reading the thread I can only offer this bit of history. The University of Alabama had a similar occurrence in 1998 when an assistant basketball coach, Tyrone Beamon, approached some boosters asking for money to pay a recruit in Houston, Texas. The boosters turned him down and called the Alabama compliance office which in turn self reported to the NCAA what had happened. No money changed hands, the University self reported the incident and the NCAA extended the probation window an additional 5 years. That is the reason Alabama was a repeat offender in the Albert Means deal.

I'm not saying they will but the NCAA might extend your probation window.

I wasn't aware we had a probation window to start with.

LSU football is not under any probation that I'm aware of, BT. LSU self-reported a minor tutoring violation under Nick and voluntarily gave up 2 scholarships. The NCAA accepted the university actions and no probation was mentioned that I recall. LSU had a one-year probabtion imposed by the NCAA in 1986 for a minor violation. Did I miss something?

The LSU basketball sanctions from the Lester Earl fiasco expired years ago.
