The knock on the Star Spangled Banner has always been the tune. I agree, the words are a bit narrowly focused, but the song is hard to play and harder to sing. Most of us don't have the range. As a result, most of us sing it BAD.

Not a knock on the US of A, or on Patriotism, but just a bad tune...from a musical/orchestral point of view.

I sang in a men's A Capella quartet for a couple years here in WF. Trying to find an arrangement for men in 4 parts was pretty difficult. That said, it was a ton of fun to sing.

That verse will PROUDLY be sang at The Las Cruces Tea Party Olde Fashion Picnic in the Park celebration July 3rd.

You do not have to sing it perfect. Just Sing it with all your heart. Thats what matters

    Are you serious ?????

Man I could not differ more. There isnt a single time when I hear that song at a game or an event I dont stand up proudly and sing and I cannot sing worth a darn. That song is emotionally stirring for me and I am not a former military person.

Just like Oh Canada is for Canadians..

I think our anthem is one of the best in the world.
The melody and the end where we sing "home of the brave....."

    Just awesome
