Wow... I've known this since I was a kid. Thought it was pretty well known.

I have a better question... what is a sooner? Why choose a buckeye?

According to my Dad, Sooners are people that went into Oklahoma before the date the government set as the day to enter the state and claim land, and claimed their land.

    They did it SOONER.

At least that's what Dad said when I asked him.

When they go to another State to play, the Sooner they leave the better. :hihi:

It was the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889. The "Sooners" could have actually been called "Cheaters".

    Cajun Punk...

Buckeye is the official state tree of Ohio. I use to think those stickers on their helmet looked like this

FYI dont try to make a Buckeye Nut pie because they are poisonous.

Buckeye fans always say they are a dominant nut. Whatever that means.
