The bottom line is we do not have a good quarterback this year. If the offensive line was better & thus running was like last year we would not need a very good QB, unfortunately...... I'll repeat what I said in the summer, we lost 4 Starters on the offensive line that all had lots of starts. Peterman, Reed, Edwards & Livings (switched positions). We are not scheming/blocking very well. (See Georgia Game.)

We also miss Lavalais. He singlehandely disrupted the QB so many times last year. Thus the turnovers. I know that Spears had a great game (against Troy), but he should. No one is disrupting the QB consistently from a defensive line standpoint. Thus no turnovers. (See Georgia game, this year vs. last)

This now brings up the Ryan Perilloux question. I still don't think he is going to Texas. I know he likes Greg Davis (God only knows why) but I think he will eventually back out.
But is he a head case? Does he think he will be anointed the starting qb position at any school he attends? I've heard Saban is still in contact with him but I'm not sure he is the correct fit for a Saban coached team.

    Thoughts?

Doesn't seem like the game was a huge blowout, even without the turnovers. Did you see the trouble the Tigers had running the ball? That forced them into passing and, therefore, interceptions. The defense did play extremely well. Besides needing to be better at rushing the ball, the Tigers needed better red zone defense and better tackling by the offense! With our QB situation, it's unfortunate, but the offense needs to divert practice time from offensive drills to tackling drills!

Personally I think we will be just fine, LSU is 18 for the last 21, we have two SEC championships and a National Title along with some Bowl Victories, we are pouring over with Talent all over the field, and we have the best fan base in the United States, we will be fine next year with JR and Flynn. Broussard and the gang will be even better and our D will still dominate...
Should LSU stack even more talent, fantastic..

Yes Marcus Randall is not very good after he makes a few mistakes. But I trust Saban, if JR is not putting in the work then we win or lose with Randall.
I will still wear my purple and gold every day of the week win or lose.

    Geaux Tigers.
