seems unlikely, given that every image we ever see is hugely manipulated. her job is to be in a photo and get paid. she doesnt own the photo and i hope she has no legal recourse. we dont have to sue over everything. she should be happy she had a job standing around in clothes at all.

this is the exactly appropriate point. this is what we tell our kids. the complaining about is counterproductive and has the opposite of the intended effect. it effectively teaches kids that the imagery they see should be something important that they are influenced by.

what if your precious daughter was skinny?

    solutions:

    1. complain about industry, skinny images and whatnot

    2. tell daughter to ignore it, use actual health standards to determine healthy weight. remind her that boys like boobs and asses.

seems like number 2 is a better idea.

that reminds me, just yesterday i received some "health standards" wheel in the mail from bcbs. i have a seemingly healthy and definitely active 3yr old boy. he's 40 inches tall, 40 lbs. it said he was obese in the 98 percentile.

best image i have with me.

the wheel didnt go past 20 yrs old so i checked myself when i was 16. 6'3 175" it said i was obese. 92 percentile.

so im not sure youre advise is best (although it is probably still better than getting it from vogue.)

seems like option two would have a lot of fathers starving their daughters!
