Ok guys, imagine that you're not all Bama/Saban haters for a minute and tell me how you feel about the Bama team with a new coach. Pretend you're a football fan full of knowledge...NOT a LSU fan full of knowledge.

We all know that Shula was a horrible coach and motivator. We also know that Shula's offense was about as vanilla as you can get.

Do you think that this year, Saban will win of the "big" games (UT, LSU, @AU). There is also UGA, ARK and a neutral site game with FSU, but the "big 3" that I mentioned are what are most important. Now, most Bama fans are expecting a miracle this year. I am a little more realistic. We wont sweep the 3 but in all honesty, I think we get 2 of them. I'm not sure which, but I am going to say we win at home.

This year will be better than last obviously because of the coaching changes. How much better? Well, that I'm not sure, but losing game after game in the 4th because of lack of conditioning will not happen this year. Getting to the red-zone and having a total collapse will not happen as often (almost every time) as it did last year. Having your team mess up and the coach just stare in a daze like he has no clue what is going on will definately not happen this year.

Like I said, take off your purple glasses and look at this from a football fans POV and pretend you're not all die-hard Tiga's and tell me what you think...

Ya'll have a tough, tough schedule and don't have a great team. I see your team going 8-4 during the regular season. Saban will improve your program, no doubt, but he's no miracle worker. He averaged 3 losses a season here, and will likely average around that with Bama.

That, in itself, would be a miracle.

I'm with Parso- 8-4. The ones in bold are the ones I see Bama winning.....plus one of the ones not in bold (My guess, FSU).

    2007 Season
    September 1 Western Carolina Tuscaloosa
    September 8 Vanderbilt Nashville
    September 15 Arkansas Tuscaloosa
    September 22 Georgia Tuscaloosa
    September 29 FSU Jacksonville
    October 6 Houston Tuscaloosa
    October 13 Ole Miss Oxford
    October 20 Tennessee Tuscaloosa
    November 3 Mississippi State Starkville
    November 10 LSU Tuscaloosa
    November 17 Louisiana-Monroe Tuscaloosa
    November 24 Auburn Auburn
December 1 SECC Atlanta.......take this one off of your schedule. :hihi:

I was an FSU fan as a kid. Charlie Ward was my hero. lol

no way you take 2 out of those 3. I think 1 out of three would be an accomplishment for next year but I think your chances of going 0-3 are the highest. That said, I think Saban, next year, will at least not allow anything like the MSU debacle to happen. I think Bama will be underdogs (not really close underdogs either) for UT, AU, LSU, UGA, and FSU and to expect to win more than 1 or 2 games out of those where you will be underdogs is, in my opinion, looking through crimson colored glasses. I think Arky is a toss-up with all their problems. Like I said, I think Saban will at least improve the record by not losing games you should win, and he might grab 1 or 2 underdog wins at MOST next year. He's not some kind of God, which I think is evident from his football career in its entirety and his lack of accomplishments since the major event on his resume (the LSU NC).

    HELLOOOOOO....
Why is everyone assuming Arkansas will lose to Alabama?? Pray to god Arkansas doesnt win the West again. They still have McFadden, Felix Jones and Monk.
Realistically, I see Bama losing to LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, and more than a 50% chance of losing to FSU, UGA and UT.

I see them winning only Auburn out of the big three only because Saban will be able to motivate them for it.

Granted, Tubby will get his team hyped up as well. This will be another good year for the Iron Bowl.

I'll get to lsutiga's post in a sec. First, "Hurricane," the Arkansas loss last year was due to poor coaching along with some dumb luck. Several FG's missed that were cheap shots along with a few extra points. It was a game we should have won, a game the play calling (and refusing to switch kickers) translated into a loss. It was also the dart that sealed the season in several of the players eyes. It's one of those game the opponent didn't win, but we gave away.

Different staff in place and that loss doesn't happen.

Realize also, you are mentioning a few players Ark has returning but failing to mention the numbers they lost. Practically the entire OL and their DL didn't get a lot of talent returning as well. In Tuscaloosa...first SEC game at home...

Looking at the schedule tiga posted you'll see 7 games there are 5 games that aren't highlighted. Now, it wouldn't surprise me to see one of those seven dropped, early on, simply because it is a new staff. That leaves 5.

Every stop Saban has made in his career, during his first year he has improved the W's by at least 3 games. If that trend continues it would put us at a 9 W mark.

Stallings lost his first 3 before finishing the season out. Hell, Bryant lost 5 in his first year but that was under very different circumstances.

The "little" things cost us games last year. I don't see those little things coming up with this new staff.

I see Bama beating Georgia and choking some Arkansas type game.
