I am happy for spears...see what happens when you should come back for your senior year....most of the time you can improve your draft stock...I wish Marquise would of done that...
i think spears looked great, his stats would have looked better if the three blind mice would have thrown a few flags for holding against him. he looked the best of the defensive ends because is able to put pressure up the field and plug the hold for running, roth and swancutt would line up wide and would beat the tackle with speed but won't have that kind of success in the nfl unless they develope more power like spears. i couldn't believe the holds they had on spears but the refs wouldn't throw the flag.
Marquise is an impressionable guy...Agents got ahold of him...His mother was trying to tell him differently, but he regretted his decision, and tried to get out of it...It was a Donte Stallworth type of thing....
Not sure if they were shown on TV, but JaMarcus Russell and Michael Clayton were on the sidelines. Marcus Randell was walking around with a Corey Webster jersey on. Marcus Spears probably got the loudest applause for non-Alabama, Auburn players. You can really tell he loves the game. After the first interception when he almost sacked the QB all the coaches ran over to him. All the people in Mobile have been speaking very highly of him.
I have to admit that as of late I have noticed Spears stock dropping on many draft boards....not all mind you AND many of these draft boards are no-name sites.....but even ESPN has Spears as a VERY late pick and FoxSports I believe doesnt even have Spears in the 1st round
