If Florida can escape the injury bug this season, I think they can seriously have a go at running the table all the way to a back to back championship (yes, that's zero losses). This Horford dude is a beast. SEC basketball will be fun to watch with the 3 big dogs (Florida, LSU, Bama) in the mix (plus Kentucky, Tennessee and possibly MSU).
I wouldnt be suprose if Florida doesnt win the East. I fully expect them to, but they are going to be everyones target all year long. It is very unlikely they repeat.
The Morning Advocate reports that Rolle is out for the first game with a back injury (two herniated disks). That sounds serious. If Rolle needs surgery then we won't see him this season and LSU's prospects are dimmed somewhat. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/4650641.html
Go vote, LSU is #6 in the fan poll on Fox Sports website http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk LSU is ranked 4th by SI and there is a poll that asks what team out of their top 4 has the best shot at going to Atlanta for the Final Four. LSU is killing Kansas, Florida, and UNC with 42% of the vote. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/ncaa/specials/preview/2006/ Nice to see that LSU is getting some respect in B-Ball.
I think they have a great shot at repeating. I think they would have to be the favorite on anyone's board. However, I would gladly bet money, and give odds, that they do not go undefeated. Anyone can PM me if the want to take me up on it.
Undefeated??? In basketball??? NO WAY. The 1996 Kentucky Wildcats might have been one of the greatest basketball teams in college basketball history. They had six future first-round NBA draft picks and a seventh player who was taken in the second round. They lost two games that year.
