Of course he took it. If the ball boy would have passed it to him, it would have been an easy drop by Bowe.

ya'll read the rest of that miami-herald article? Now They are accusing the lsu fans of throwing ice and cups at the Miami players. There trying to turn this into the pacers-pistons brawl or something but I can tell you this is a big fat lie. I was about 10 rows back from the lsu portal where it all happened and witnessed everything outside and no lsu fans were throwing anything. All we did was boo the miami players for coming into our tunnel which like everyone is saying should never be done for whatever reason. So just make sure you get credible facts cause it sure sounds like there blowing this way outta proportion. Leave it to the other teams news paper to be spreading the "propaganda".

MAYBE accuse DB of poor judgment, but the game was over, it is not a crime to jack with your buddies, (why would anyone suggest a 2 game suspension, damn, have you ever been in a euphoric moment in your life?:dis: ). I do not think the ball BELONGED to the ball boy or the ball boy would be fined if he lost the ball. If the ball boy was looking for a memento, I am sure other items were all around.

I am much more concerned with using helmets as weapons, and why the um players were not versed in the very old rule, keep your helmet on during fights. Things start getting serious once the mob mentality takes over. If I was a DA in hotlanta; cages would be rattled to drive home the point. You don't have to charge someone to introduce them to the consequences of "What If".

Puleeasse.......DB was playing around with his old buddies when other Miami players misunderstood and over reacted. This is the consistent story that I have seen being reported lately. How incredible STUPID would it be for DB to try and steal a football in front of the entire world. I believe this is commonly referred to as "hype" and/or "spin" aka bullchit. Anyone wonder why Coker closed the locker room to the media? It is nonsense to suggest that DB should be suspended(where did this come from?).....the whole team should be applauded for taking care of business on and off the field. :champs: :champs:

If they were hit in the head with a helmet then the LSU players that hit them had to have their helmets off also. Presumably the LSU players were minding their own business savoring the win with their helmets off( as one would expect) when the trouble started. I can easily see how the helmets would have been used considering that some of the pics show many Miami players still wearing helmets....can't do much to a helmet with a bare fist! Survival instinct tells me you make use of what you got when trouble finds you.

My fear is that a kid ends up dead and another being charged with manslaughter because of a big misunderstanding. The idea of "you make use of what you got" can be a dangerous concept. I don't think of these players as criminals, but a mistake can ruin a life.

I have a friend who played D1 as a lineman, and when they hit you, even joking around, they can bring a load. Put a helmet in their hand, it could be a deadly weapon.
