Very few players Shakerin's size have his speed, especially in the open field. He has a natural instinct on when to put on the jets while going through a hole and creatng separation. What you see is what you get - a straight-ahead runner with little shake and bake, but has some subtle moves in the hips that make it extremely tough to get a clean strike on him. What sets him apart is his ability to be a home-run threat anywhere on the field.

He's kind of tall for a running back. You generally expect those guys to be between 5'9" and 6'.

He's the real deal. I am amazed this kid is not a 4 Star on Rivals. He's got a sixth gear.

Chuck Muncie with the Saints was on the tall side, and he was a good running back when he wasn't high. :hihi: He had longish arms, and when he went around end on a sweep, when corners and safeties came up to hit him, he'd give them a long stiff arm, and their short little arms couldn't get to his body. If a DB was going to take him down, the DB usually paid the bigger price (sometimes a forearm in the face). As a running back, I liked Muncie. So, I'm ok with a taller back, like say Eric Dickerson did well. I looked and Muncie and Dickerson were both 6' 3" and went 220. Muncie was MVP of the 1980 Pro Bowl.

I don't think the competition in Utah allows someone to judge how good someone is against superior high school competition. The question mark about how shifty he can be is also a bad omen. Finally, my racist comment, he is a white. How many white tailbacks start in the SEC. Hester is the closest thing to a tailback we have had in many years. Who was the last part time back---Sammy Martin.

Race really shouldn't play a part in it at all

looks like he cant run the ball with it in his left hand. Never switches it keeps it in his right hand at all times and the ball should be in outside arm. Has to be one of the ugliest runners ever but he does get the job done but i dont he would in the SEC

Race should not, and hopefully does not, play a factor. If there are concerns about his athleticism and the quality of his competition, that's what camps are for. Get him in and measure him against other D-1 recruits.
