The only problem with that theory is their in conference opponents are cupcake city. No way the puss ten is the toughest conference in the country. USC is really really good, Cal is average at best and then there is a huge void with no real teams to speak of. Tennessee is ranked 5th best in the SEC and is in the top 19 in the nation. Cal is the second best team in the pac 10 and is ranked 20th behind Tennessee.
Yeah, people need to get off the Pac 10's jock and let them be. They are not nearly as bad as in years past (see 2003). It can be argued that the Pac 10 is better than the ACC and Big 12 this year. And definitely better than the Big East. SEC Big 10 Pac 10 Big East ACC Big 12 That's my order. Big 10 has 3 top 10 teams and nothing else to speak of. The gap between the SEC and the 2nd best conference is the biggest its been in quite some time. It's not even close.
Take a look at the SEC results both in and OOC and tell me if you still think that: UF 7 - 1 (4 – 0 So Miss, C Florida, W Car, FSU) UT 5 – 3 (4 – 0 Cal, AFA, Marshall, Memphis) UG 4 – 4 (4 – 0 W Ken, UAB, CU, Ga Tech) UK 4 – 4 (3 – 1 Louis, Tex St, C Mich, ULL) SC 3 – 5 (4 – 0 Wofford, FAU, M Tenn St, Clemson) Van 1 – 7 (3 – 1 Mich, Tenn St, Temple, Duke) Ark 7 – 1 (3 – 1 USC, Utah St, SE Mo St, ULL) LSU 6 – 2 (4 – 0 ULL, Az, Tulane, Fresno St) AU 6 – 2 (4 – 0 Wash St, Buff, Tulane, Ark St) UA 2 – 6 (4 – 0 Haw, ULL, Duke, Fl Intl) UM 2 – 6 (2 – 2 Memphis, Missouri (L), W Forest (L), Northwest St) MSU 1 – 7 (2 – 2 Tulane (L), UAB, W Virginia (L), Jacksonville St) Granted the top tier SEC teams beat up on each other and that hurts us in the rankings, but our OOC schedules are for the most part a joke.
