1. I'm not really sure that Saban's coaching style would go over very well in the NFL. With all the premadonnas there would definitely be some clashes when Nick started getting in people's faces the way he does sometimes. The college players can accept this tough love but most of those overpaid pros would not. I think that Nick is very aware of this and that he' staying put.
  2. Yeah, outside of Cower, there aren't anymore coaches in the NFL that are hard-nosed.

Look at Mike Ditka when he was with New Orleans! He's a prime example of how the NFL, and it's players, developed faster than it's coaches. Players in the '80's were respectful of their coaches--and it was obvious. Players in the NFL today frankly don't care what their coaches say. Heck! Half of them do whatever it is that they want, and get away with it.

Nick, do yourself a favor and stay with us! :D
  3. If you believe Saban is staying put and doesn't want the NFL, then why does he continue to talk to NFL teams, whether directly or through Sexton? Surely he doesn't need the leverage to negotiate with LSU, does he? Hell, he can get whatever he wants right now at LSU.

Secondly, Saban coached in the NFL and understands the difference between professional and college players, so I'm sure he knows what adjustments he needs to make, if and when he decides to go to the NFL.
  4. I agree Boston ... talking/listening doesn't equal leaving. IMO, Saban is in such hot demand right now he would be foolish not to listen. And if the right situation ever comes up, he will consider it and possibly move on to the NFL.

I think some are kidding themselves if they truly believe Saban is not having conversations with the NFL.
  5. Could you see Saban coaching TO? I would buy the popcorn for that even.

    LSUDAN
  6. My guess it would be similar to what Gruden went though with Meshawn last year.
  7. And I would buy the beer.
