In todays SI - I figure we all have a subscription to it right? - there is a nice feature article on Belichick. Saban is mentioned a few times in the article. It says a month after the Super Bowl he went down to Baton Rouge so he could draw up defenses for two days with his former DC Nick Saban. The article is well written and it reenforces that Saban is the best defensive mind in football. It gives an example of a scheme they devised which disguises cover 4 as cover 2. They get some comments from Tom Brady saying he didn't know what was going on when he first saw it in practice, etc.

The article really gets me fired up when I think about the winning coach of the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP and the winning coach of the SUPER BOWL sitting in Baton Rouge creating defenses that will undoubtedly make it into both teams playbooks. and NFL & SEC backfields. cool.

I wish I could link it but I only saw it in the mag.

My thoughts EXACTLY!! I just finished reading the article and was going to post something here making just the points you made.

Bellicheck also addressed the team while he was in town. To have the best mind in college football and the best mind in professional football, both at the pinnacle of their respective professions, swapping schemes...wow.
