1. sure pedigree plays a part but to say he got picked first simply based on name is crazy. it plays a small part but combines and scouts put little weight in that when evaluating them firsthand. if its a tie between 2 or more then it could shift the balance.

i still dont know who i woulda chosen. I will tell you in 10 years.
  2. Damn, you sound like our resident BCS guru. Nice sig, btw....

  3. :hihi: :hihi:

i'll have isl release the scout's final numbers on a need to know basis only.
  4. If you want to call a Manning a loser as a QB, look to the dad, not the sons. Eli may very well end up being one, but his brother is incredible. Archie was the worse one of them all.
  5. Peyton Manning is just like the great Thunder Dan Marino, one hell of a QB that has won everything under the sun but a big game......

    Both are great losers.....
  6. As for Ainge, you also can't look past Tennessee's past in developing QBs, mainly Peyton - whom Ainge has gotten alot of press as resembling, both by the media & Tennessee's own coaching staff.

  7. how about the freaking development of rick clausen? that dude couldnt throw a 10 yard hitch before it hit the ground here yet he goes there and is mvp of their bowl and played well last season. how the hell does that happen? or how the hell can we not develop him as well? im confused.
  8. perhaps he didn't stay long enough.
  9. Exactly. The UT quarterback doesn't have the number one frosh QB in the nation coming in to challenge him. To anyone who has followed LSU and understands the way QB's develop under Jimbo, the controversy is more because of RP's potential than JR's performance.
  10. Agree 100%
