I can't wait for the manlove around Roethlisberger to cool off a bit. The Steelers won a lot of games in spite of the guy, not because of his golden arm. I think he's a very good QB, but making such comparisons between Eli and Roethlis this early in their careers is preposterous.

Your uncle didn't offer you a bs job handing out towels in BFE for $200,000 a year?

Remember when Indy almost took Ryan Leaf over Peyton Manning with the first pick 8 years ago? I think most GM's decided on Eli even before the combines started, though his college career was no better than Phillips or Rothlisberger(sp)... Eli's arm is no stronger than the other two, imo....

It's the name that got him the #1 pick. Along with the #1 pick comes about an extra $5 mill......

Peyton is the real deal, although he'll never win anything

That is a stark difference from what you originally were saying. It wasn't that people wanted to draft Eli because of his last name. People wanted to draft him because of his brothers success. That may sound like the same thing, but it's not...It was indirect factor, not a direct factor...

The way you were originally saying, it sounded like you were saying that they basically gave him $5 mil for his name which is ludicrous. He got the money for being #1.

How do you know I'm not making 200k handing out towels?

ELI's last name (being Peyton's little brother) put him over the other two QB's who produced at the same level if not higher than himself during their college careers in last years draft, which in turn earned him about an extra $5 million bones.....

Can your uncle get me a job handing out towels in BFE for $200k? I'll even hand out wart remover........

I'm sure it was as simple as that. And had NOTHING to do with Eli playing in the SEC as opposed to going to the wrong Miami or playing the wrong sport in North Carolina...:dis:

Are you seriously saying that Eli's college career was as good or better than Rivers or Rothlisberger?

Next you're gunna tell us he'll be as good as his big bro in the NFL......

Even though Peyton never won the big one at Tenn and will never win the big one in Indy, his college career was much better than Eli's...

and yes I know Eli went to Ole Miss and Peyton went to Tenn (big difference)

Both are losers but one (peyton) will always be the better of the loser brothers.......

cmon crawfish, as much as i hate the mannings its obvious you're jaded too much.

peyton is not a loser as much as Id like to think so. he's stuck on a dan marino type team with no defense and a gimp running back.

eli improved dramatically in his time at ole miss and was damn impressive his final season. he showed the ability to make every pass and good decisions even though he often falls down.

let's be a bit more open minded here. god knows its hard for me to do but sometimes ya gotta.
