I don't think AuburnTiger1990 deserved to be blasted for his comments. The post was perfectly respectable and agreed with the "beefs" of many LSU fans.
That's crap. Eli got picked because he presented, at the time, the most value and most potential for a team. No NFL team is goign to invest $20 million + in a player just because of his family... Sure, having the Manning name doesn't hurt, but when it comes to investing money and #1 draft picks in these guys, these teams make a careful decision based on a lot of things...
They would have invested $15 million in him anyway... He's a Manning so they threw in another $5 million...... I watched Michael Clayton pic off Eli manning twice in a H.S. playoff game. Can any of these Mannings win a big game? Peyton is well on his way to being the next Dan Marino......
No way...Absolutely no way any business organization or business person throws "an extra 5 mil" to someone because of their family... Clayton was a badass Mofo...
Ever heard of the Bush family or the Cheney's? Welcome to America.... This happens everyday in business. small, medium and large...
I'm well aware of the business world. I'm not saying it never happens, but to say that a team would "throw" an extra 5 million at a kid because of his family is proposterous...The NFL and normal business operations don't operate like political machines like the Bush's... Also, I'm not sure what you are referring to the Cheney's for...My uncle was Dick Cheney's right hand man at Halliburton and said he was the smartest business man he'd ever worked for...
