Yes, Wichita Falls is a little different than Austin--but I do miss trees (and the weather here is less than desirable much of the time.) However, Austin is much prettier than North Texas.

I've heard nothing but good from those that live in Austin. I'd imagine T-town is nice too if you enjoy trailer parks and mullets. Roooll tide... Yeeehaww!

I would prefer the UT job over Bama any day. You get all the benefits plus with less pressure day in and day out. UT has tons of money, you are the Premier state college with arguably the largest talent pool of any state and Austin is much better than Tuscaloosa. Its across the board a better job and that's prior to considering the conference allows for an easier run at titles each year. I don't see any down side when comparing the 2 for a coach that can be successful at either school. Regardless I doubt Saban would leave unless his family pushed hard for it. I think both schools would probably do whats necessary financially. IF any of this is legit the biggest factor in my mind is Saban has tried to repair his image over the last couple years or so and does he want another PR hit? I think if you turn back the clock and he's walking from Miami with offers from both schools (money comparable) he goes to Austin hands down. JMO

Agreed buddy you lived in Wichita Falls if I remember.
I hardly call that "The jewel of Texas" ;-)

I love living in Dallas. Great place to raise a family. I cherish and celebrate my Louisiana heritage but I dont ever see myself leaving.
I go home for games, holidays, and fly my LSU colors proudly.
    But I like Texas.

I agree with all of this. Louisiana is always home, but I can't help but think my kids will be better off up here.
