Answer: NFHS & NCAA rules: The holder is not down if he catches the snap with his knees on the ground, as long as there is a player in position to kick the ball. It is not required that a kick actually be attempted. So once the holder has the ball he may place and hold the ball for the kicker, OR: NCAA: He may pass, handoff, etc. from his knees--or he may rise to advance, pass, handoff etc.,
look at the tape. Flynn was off of his knee. Also it wasn't a no look pitch like the media says. He looked then he pitched. He was off of his knee. LSU wouldn't pratice this play if it were not permited.
He was ON his knee IMO, which is perfectly legal...according to the NCAA rules as posted above...:thumb:
My bad! I must of still had my buzz on when I saw the tape. I was wrong, wrong, wrong. He was on his knee and he didn't look. What a buzz I had...lol Take a look at this clip. My favorite is Les laughing. That sent chills up my spine. :hihi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGr6e8nDId4
I remember hearing that Les (at some point before this game) showed the play to NCAA officials and they said it was perfectly legal.
