Two loses in the SEC easily equals one in the Big Least. Losing to Rutgers won't make the BCS want you. As for Wisconsin, should we have three Big Ten teams make it?
I believe LSU is right where they should be after beating Tennessee and Arkansas on the road. LSU's schedule is a lot harder then Wisconsin and Louisville. And I'm actually glad to see some voters are counting strength of schedule. But if that was a *real* factor, Florida would get in the NC game if they beat Arkansas. That said, It's just sad that in college football nowadays, teams have to be concerned with impressing voters and winning with style. Who the hell are these *******s that determines the rankings anyway? Magazine writers should be the last kind of people to do a ranking. There is no way they watch every game and I'm sure you and I are just as big (if not bigger) college football fans than they are. I'm mostly talking about Florida who has played the nation's toughest schedule and will get left out of the NC game if USC beats UCLA. If there was a playoff, then winning with style would not make such a huge difference and everyone could give a damn about these stupid sportswriters.
I agree. The BCS claims that strength of schedule is not factored in. While it may not be a factor in the computer poll, I personally believe it is a factor in the human polls.
LSU's strength of schedule also reflects playing against very physical teams that will also physically beat up your linemen. The Cheeseheads had maybe three somewhat tough games and the rest were cupcakes.
This is a misconception. Strength of Schedule is most definitely a factor in the computers. Margin of victory is not. What you are probably thinking of is a couple of years ago when they took SoS out of the BCS formula itself. There used to be an additional SOS component that counted for 1/4 of the standings.
All I know is that USC is going to put up major style points against UCLA, if they come out the gate hot. So basically Florida has no shot at going to the NC even if they run up the score.
and the SOS is ****ed up now with Pac 10 playing every other pac 10 team... from Sagarin. To whomever: Do I hope LSU's sports teams win every time they play? Yes. Am I a realist about the performance of aforementioned teams? Yes. Does it sometimes make me appear to the casual observer as a non-LSU-fan? Possibly. Here's one for you. JR needs to quit f***ing fumbling on his running plays or he deserves to get benched. Happy now?
