1. Really? All that matters is his life was in danger and he protected himself. All the evidence presented justified his actions.
  2. It is a mental state of mind that the jury does not have at their disposal. It was not admitted or not allowed into evidence. Certainly, like you said earlier, it was cause a mistrial if that was discussed in the deliberations.
  3. That's not all that matters. He put himself in danger, then provoked danger to others, and when they tried to disarm him he murdered. Those actions are only "justified" in the minds of white supremacist terrorists.

  9. I think it would be up to the DA as whether or not to try the case again. And yes the verdict has to be unanimous.
